In my hometown -Yunnan province, located at the most southwest of China,  lives many ethnic groups. The folk painters want to show their culture and beautiful costumes from these batiks.
    >
What makes batik so desirable?? It is a combination of fine arts  incorporating two mediums, wax and dye, to produce layers and textures.  It requires a certain level of patience to produce a piece of fine art  where batik is concerned, taking into consideration the subtle colour  combination and tedious printing process.
Batik is practiced by certain ethnic minorities in China.
It involves painstaking procedures although the process is simple.  Firstly, wax is melted, a special knife is used to scrape the liquid wax and create patterns while it hardens on the cotton cloth for printing.  The cloth is then immersed completely in a jar.
The dyed cloth is boiled to remove wax, thus leaving clear white patterns on the background.
Batik offers ample scope for artistic imagination in the making of patterns.  Those commonly seen are floral, geometric and spiral designs, but folk  painters may also follow their artistic inclinations may also follow  their artistic inclinations and draw flowers, birds, beasts, insects or  fish. The patterns mostly enriched with local flavour. No two pieces of  batik are identical, even if both are of the same design also have  slightly difference.
The native ethnic groups use batik extensively, be it as tablecloths, clothes, handbags, etc.

    Tips for batik maintenance:
When washing it, NOT wash with washing machines. NOT use detergent and rubbed. If batik is not too dirty, quite warm in water.  But if really dirty, for example, affected the food stain, can be removed with soap bath or orange peel. Drop few salt into water at the first time when washing batik, the salt can keep it more beautiful.
When dry batiks, the wet is not considered necessary. Dry not under the direct sunlight. Dry it in the shade or wind them up to dry.
When dry, drag the edge of batik slowly to the fiber terlipat to return to its original position.
During the long international shipping way, batik can not avoid wrinkles of folding and wrapping. If you have dried, smooth batik avoid directly. If batik appears distraught, spray little water on the back of the batik cloth, iron the back of batik cloth. NOT iron the batik with steam. Not iron the obverse of the batik!
